Bye Bye Kitties

Image
Although 99% of these blog posts will be about Brixton and how cute & smart he is, there will be the inevitable 1% that won't really be about him. This post will be in the 1%. We all talk about how much happiness our families and friends bring us, but we don't always talk about how much our pets mean to us. How they add just that little something extra to make our lives complete. Last Monday, Delia woke up to find out that Aphrodite had passed away during the night. She was the last of our kitties to leave us; Fatty was the first and Nyah was the second. Delia was the first to get Aphrodite in the summer of 2003; Nate got Nyah two weeks later and two weeks after that, I brought home Fatty. We had so much fun with those kitties: we threw them in the air and made them land on the couch, we lifted their tails and pretended that their butts were machine guns, we slid them on their sides across the kitchen floor and we watched them run all across the house and up and down t

Getting Around

Image
Lucy stopped by to visit with her cousin before the Raider game the weekend before last. You can kinda get an idea of how tall they are if you compare them to Delia (who is trying to hide). Isn't Brixton so strong? Look at Brixton in his hip-hop persona hoodie! Next time he wears this outfit I'm going to take video of him beatboxing. Brixton is getting so good with his tummy time! What do you think of the trail of drool on his chin? On Friday, my Mom was kind enough to drive him to my work for Petco's Annual Harvest Fair. He had so much fun being held by everyone! BTW, if ANYONE is in the market for beautiful hand-made baby/kid blankets - check out my sister's website on Etsy. Brixton was soooo happy to get a Thanksgiving card in the mail from his Oma in Portland. I showed him the card and he promptly tore it out of my hands. Even babies love getting mail! We went out to dinner on Friday night and then went to Delia and Nick's. It just so happened that Lucy

Sucking Toes

It took me a few days, but I finally found the video of Brixton sucking his toes! I guess we know what he'll be eating for Thanksgiving!

Brixton's First Party

Image
I know these pictures are almost two weeks old, but I figured it's better late than never! Here's a picture of Uncle Nate visiting with Brixton - he had so much fun with him! We were very worried about Brixton's first foray into our partying world. Rowan was a dream child and slept through all of our parties so we thought perhaps we wouldn't be so lucky with Brixton. But all the worrying was for nothing! Brixton conked out as soon as the first guest arrived and slept all the way through! We hung out right outside his window and had the video monitor working overtime. No one could believe that we had a 4-month old baby inside the house. Please, no one call CPS on us. We promise we checked on him often! Here is a pix of me and Mershad taking a shot off the ice luge. This is what Eff-13 is all about! Lucy and Brixton...the morning after. I'll spare you the pictures of us - they look much better than we did!

Catching Up

Image
Sorry it's been awhile since I posted any pictures. It's been a bit boring lately and not a whole lot has been going on. Brixton is having a ton of fun in the bath (especially with the down there area) but he's also loving sucking on his toes. He looks kind of guilty, huh? I have some really cute video of him sucking on his toes but I can't find it anywhere. I'll download it again and post at a later date...it's rather hilarious! We went out to dinner for my 32nd Birthday with Mom, Dad, Nick and Erik. It was pretty low key, but the food was delicious! We went to Joe's Pizza and had the Xtreme Pizza and Artichoke Adventure...I swear my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Brixton hung out in his car seat while we stuffed our faces. He looks like an English hooligan in this picture - OY! Can you tell Brixton was jealous of our food? I guess he's trying to tell me something... I know what you're thinking...I hung out all day with Brixton and

4-Months Old

Image
Can you believe Brixton is already 4-months old? We took him for his well visit yesterday and he weighed 15 lbs & 7 ounces and was 26 inches long. I took some pictures while we waited in the doctor's office: I don't think Brixton has any idea that he's about to get FIVE shots in the leg! Look at those chunky legs! Our little 4-month old is officially rolling over from front to back and back to front...and he loves to suck on his toes. He smiles and coos with those who love him and gives dirty looks to strangers in the supermarket. He is so much fun! Here are some perspective shots of Brixton in the bathtub earlier this evening so you can tell how big he's getting: Tzaddi is trying desperately to get Brixton to look over at him, but he only has eyes for his Mommy! In the midst of writing this post while Tzaddi was giving the bath pictured above, Tzaddi called me over to check out what Brixton was doing. I snuck around from behind Brixton so he couldn't see

Happy Halloween!

Image
Our fun filled Halloween weekend started off with lots of excitement at my work. KUSI arrived bright and early to film a spot showcasing our dressed up doggies. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a picture with Tzaddi's sworn enemy, Joe Lizura. For those who don't know, Joe is a local meteorologist who also happens to be on Tzaddi's list of Top Five Most Hated People. Actually, that's not the name of the list, but if I were to put the real name of the list in internet-forever-land, he might get in trouble ;) Due to our extended festivities the night before, we spent most of Halloween day lazing around the house. It's too bad that Brixton is a tiny baby and doesn't really understand the concept of being hungover...I was hoping that he wouldn't mind cuddling on the couch all day long, but as you can see I didn't get my wish! Once we finally got our butts in gear, we headed over to Hacienda Hughes to take the kiddies Trick-or-Treating. He
